anti mod chip

trying to play NCAA Gamebreakers 2001,
when loading it says: mod chip detected..
call 1-888-??????
does that mean that I can't even patch this game? (not that I've ever done that before I'm sure I would need help)
also coolborders 2001 does the same thing?
Is there anything I can do?
