Hey everyone!
I have the day off and besides playing some BFME1 I also wanted to play through a few classic, singleplayer missions of Starcraft: Brood Wars. I found out that a new patch had been released so I installed it (v 1.14). As I couldn't find a crack for this new version I decided to give the mini-image available on Gamecopyworld.com a try. Everything seemed perfect! The game started and I tried connecting to Battle.Net and it was all good. But then I tried starting a completely fresh singleplayer game and it simply refuse to "start". When you have chosen a profile you can click on either Protoss, Zerg or Terran in order to choose episode. My problem here is that I can't get any of the episodes to load. If I click on Terran I get the regular "Starcraft-menu-click-sound" but the episode doesn't load, the game just "sits" there and does nothing. I then unmounted the mini-image and tried with my original CD and then it works 100%. Does anyone care to try the mini-image and/or maybe upload/create a new one that works? Thanks! A mini image doesn't allow single player mode, because there are data on the (real) CD which are required by the game, like videos, speech etc.. Starcraft is not fully installed offically.
Either use two independent installations (a cracked one for singleplayer, a "clean" one for multiplayer) or a full image. |

Hmmm, perhaps, you can A) copy all the files from the original CD onto the hard disk and modify a registry entry or an INI file so that the game loads them off the hard disk or B) hack the mini image to contain "empty" (but usable!) files for the videos, speech etc. (I rip my games in a modular fashion, putting away the intro, movies, music, speech, ambient sounds - whatever is not really needed - into separate RAR archives.) Just an idea, I don't have this game, not interested...

Thanks for your replies guys!
I found out about this: http://www.bwprogrammers.com/modules...download&cid=1 Downloaded it and it worked like a charm! I had to reinstall SC and copy the install.exe file from the BroodWar Cd though. |

I'm pretty sure I've played 1.13 with a mounted mini-image and the install.exe file (that has videos, speech, etc.) copied to the game dir. Now this does not work anymore with 1.15.1. Do you think Blizzard added a new check verifying the original CD to be mounted rather than a mini image? All No-CD cracks I've seen so far are for 1.15 and not 1.15.1, same goes for bwprogrammers. I'd prefer to have mini-cd if possible. Thx.
