Oblivion Error

Alright....I have Oblivion installed. The game loads up to the Main menu, and I click "New Game". I watch the cutscene and at the end of the cutscene, the game crashes. I have exactly the same problem, although I'm just running from the game desktop shortcut.
I have no idea about the crack I see further up in the thread.

I wouldn't call me a techie so just looking for plain advice how I can play this game

Are you trying to run the game on a geforce 4 mx or or similar? I had the same problem until I changed the card and then the problem gone
