I've been drinking cola, eaten candy and similar my entire life and I've never had any problems with my teeth. Not a single hole ever and no other problem either.
I brush my teeths as any regular person, 2 times a day and sometimes I forget it if I am... well less then sober...  rarely chew any gums either as don't like it, however I do use Snus. http://gfx.dagbladet.no/dinside/2003/12/17/snus.jpg Thats snus, you put it under your lip and it gives a kick. Its a tobacco product actually. However its actually NOT bad for your teeth. It makes your mouth create more saliva and thus keeps the teeth healthier! However its not as good for the gums...
