Uninstall the game and install it again and then use the 1.2 patch.

u dont get the point dude, the Battle For Europe is a standalone and there is no patch 1.2 to Battle For Europe just for Napoleonic Wars ( thats why it doesnt allow to install 1.2 patch) dunno how it works maybe if u got Napoleonic then install Battle for Europe which works as a addon and standalone and upgrade to 1.2 then it works maybe, dunno i dont have orginal cd just as i saw when friend of mine tried do same as you've said
