Not sure Joe, I thought Fade was Codemasters own protection?

@dabhand, you did not notice the irony in joe's post.
It seems not to be a problem of the cdkey. Its a problem of bad coding look

Seems it's a DEV c0ck up, from the Silentgate nfo:
Code:
S p e c i a l N o t e s
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Titan Quest Engine crashes sometimes because of the following reason:
The engine.dll uses multithread technic which means 2-5 processes use the
same mem address. This means loading sfx and loading gfx goes to same
memory address and sometimes this leads to that they get mixed and then
crash because the unpacker module is NOT designed for multithread.
^^^
So no matter what they claim in Support Forum the crack is fine and
working smooth.
Tested Proper Systems: AMD 2400 2gb ram gf5600 agp
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AMD 3000 512mb ram gf6600 agp
Pentium D 3466 2gb ram gf7900 pcie
P4 3600 1gb ram gf7800 pcie
Game Finished with: Pentium D 3466 2gb ram gf7900 pcie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Troubles we had with retail dvd and crack:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Troubles are freezing or crashes when leaving a quest fight or a cave.
AMD 2800 1gb ram ati9950 agp
AMD 64 3400 1GB ram gf7800 pcie
P4 2800 512mb ram ati9000 agp
Best solution extract the bigfiles before start the game:

Be sure to have about 20GB free on the HDD where u installed Titan Quest.
Go to commandline change into your titan quest install dir and do:

1) Mount .mds in DT4 (fixed Image)
2) Use Pr0t.St0p to hide the virtual drive(s) 3) Titan Quest.exe -> Right click -> Properties -> Compatibility [x] Win98/ME [x] Disable Visual Themes [x] Turn off advanced text services for this program 4) asr.exe -> Titan Quest.exe Working on 100% for me and next many people Singleplayer or Multiplayer Working! No Crashing Game! Last edited by bclkostra; 30-06-2006 at 13:56. |

OK, I extracted the *.arc files, even the audio files, and the game still crashes when I run it.
How do I force the game to use the extracted files and not those inside the archives? Should I delete the *.arc files? |
