It was a bad crack, that happens. Maybe a better version will come out. In the meantime, you should be able to use the mini image on GCW in combination with sd4hide.

And folks should realize that cracking ain't that easy ... I've felt bad for poor Joe, trying to police this forum the last few weeks, with the "I want my 1.61 crack NOW" crowd at it alla time ...

I wanted it, too. But it's done when it's done. I own the game. But I'd like to be able to put the CDs back in the box, never to be used except for emergency reinstallation. I don't own or play enough games anymore to bother with complicated solutions.

I stayed with the 1.5x version until I saw this, and went ahead and made myself a guinea pig ... and I got the 10-turn limit, too. So I deleted the cracked .exe and went back to the 1.61 .exe ... and using the CD, rather than reinstalling and going to 1.5x. again.

It *looks* so far like 1.61, as advertised, makes the game less of a memory hog and is more stable. 1.5x was good, this is better. Now I just want a good NO CD .exe ...

But I can be patient. :-)

Actually, the 10 turn limit does not apply to scenarios and mods.

I hope these guys post another fix soon...
