I could use something like this, or (preferably) a nocd crack, for the v1.1 High Treason update.

Atari didn't do enough testing, and they fucked up the copy protection with the retail Australian cd. As a consequence with v1.1 installed running the game prompts you to enter the cd even with it in the drive. It's been this way for over a week, and they've not been in any hurry to fix it. v1.0 works, of course, but v1.1 is a huge 150mb update which adds a number of things, makes loads of improvements, and also installs the mod tools.

It's always the way though, the one crack you want is always the one that never gets done.

I share your pain - have the Oz retail version and have been in a forum orientated disagreement with Atari since getting the game last week.
I would be very interested if a Euro version mini image would be available to see if v1.1 would then work. Although I understand the Oz/Asian version is Securom and Europe is Tages - so not sure if it works, or if the copy protection update blocks all?
Supposedly the retail version we have is being shipped back to Atari so they can work on a fix................perhaps by next weekend using our bought disc will no longer be problematic
Good luck.

I was starting to feel like I was all alone BStard. I've been very vocal under the name Arutnev275885 on Atari's official boards about this - http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums...play.php?f=433 - but they are really taking their time.

I've done searches on cracking, I've descrambled the exe, installed numerous programs that are designed to counter this securom v7 copy protection. Nothing works. If it doesn't just pop up the "wrong cd" message, another shows up with something like "the security module could not be loaded".

I've also sent tech support emails to Atari and Atari Australia highlighting the problem. Not being able to install that patch rules out multiplayer and the mod tools, which leaves nothing of interest left to me.

It's bad enough as it is that we have to wait two months on top of everyone else and pay 50% more just to get our games, but this is just insulting. In a way it's my fault though, I should have just stopped buying Atari games long ago... only, you can't help but think "maybe it'll be different this time".

I am 2bollox from Atari Censored forums you might have already guessed that.
Noticed that they've closed our thread at Atari - here's hoping it gets fixed before 'our' weekend starts.
Hope you play it a bit on Anzac Day, and I'm really concerned about Atari releasing Neverwinter Nights 2 for the reason of being a very bad support company and we won't mention release dates.
@fileforums
Sorry for taking over this thread.
Take care Arutnev275885

I was hoping they'd have a fix out by the end of the day (their time), but it's a bit rude to just close that thread and not let us know what's going on. Being that today's a public holiday for us, it would have been real nice to have woken up, downloaded the fix, then spent the day playing.

The least he could do would be to get us a version without the copy protection if we sent him our legit cd keys. They messed up pretty big with this one, and I reckon if they gave half a damn about their customers they should be willing to do whatever it takes to fix the problem.

If there's still no fix out by next weekend, I'll be pissed, because I go back to Tafe next week (after the Easter break), and I'll have no time to play by then.

I guess the conclusion is: don't rush into the shop to buy a game that was released N hours/days ago (where N is a small number). Rather, wait for a few weeks, to have the copy protection-related and other fuckups fixed by an official patch...

Here in Australia Joe, we're always waiting. We tend to wait longer than everyone else to get our hands on the same game. High Treason was delayed a good 3 weeks over here. We got it at least half a month after it came out in Europe, if not longer.

That's what makes it so frustrating, our game comes out that much later and yet it's still broken, and they're like "oh yeah, sorry, we've ordered one and are waiting for it to arrive". They certainly didn't think about testing it before it's release, and they wouldn't have even known had we not told them.

Instead of whining, why don't you create a mini image yourself? That would earn you reputation...

You shouldn't be expecting free solutions; instead, you should be grateful if you get some.

By the way, perhaps, mini images are not possible for this game's copy protection; in this case, only a full image would help. You can read the FAQ for links to a few guides on how to create full images.

I think making an image won't work if the protection itself hasn't been done properly. Still, it's either that or trying to return it (which I would recommend, companies only listen to things like a huge return percentage or a lot of badmouthing)

Dear All
Have managed to do a 'full image' backup of the the Aust. version (ie. Securom 7) which works with the asr.exe method okay (well on one computer at least) - just wondering if anyone has any better guides to do doing a maxi image for this game. As have tried the methods supplied via this forum without luck - will be quite happy to upload a working maxi image once I've created it.
Thanks in advance.

Success - I hope for all

Dear All
A 'maxi' image has been sent to GCW - works with the Australian version and Patch #1 (you'll need DT4.03). Instructions included in archive.
Tested on a P4 running WinXP sp2 (32bit).
Hopefully by the weekend should be up on GCW so have fun.
Cheers
