Simple (but long) answer to your 2nd question
:All virtual drives are SCSI drives. The copyprotection of your game (StarForce) don't "like" SCSI drives. It's simply because the creators of StarForce know, that virtual drives are SCSI drives. So they builded in a priority system into StarForce: whenever SF finds optical SCSI drives (mostly virtual) and optical IDE drives (alway real ) it prefers the IDE drives. That's why the Game requires the game disc in another drive.To avoid this message you have to unplug your optical IDE drives . If you do this, StarForce won't find any optical IDE drive and accept the (virtual) SCSI drive...
