This is old but I have to say... If you think the difference between speed with a Mega Drive and Playstation is double then you have some serious problems....
Just because MD is 16-Bit and PS is 32-Bit doesn't mean it's twice as fast. Hell it could be twice as slow. Other hardware and parts of have to be taken into consideration.
