I'm not sure if it's a good idea to leave a switched off device still connected to the motherboard via the IDE cable... You'd rather want to disconnect the IDE cable. However, mounting a switch onto it is... khm... troublesome!

What's the best place to unplug the cable from?
Should I unplug the IDE cable from the back of the cd drive or from the mainboard ? |
