I've tried every way that several of you mentioned and none work... Are you using dvd versions of the game oe cd versions if there are cd versions, i used dvd?

Quote:
I just found out earlier today how to play my Open for Business game without the cd, so I thought I'd stop by and pass the info on to you people.

Here's what worked for me, and I have been playing the game cd-free for a couple hours now with no problem...if you follow my directions properly, there is no reason it wont work for you as well.

1. Get the Game Jackal Program(the free download)
2. Get the safedisc 4 hider Program
3. Follow the directions in the Game Jackal program to create a profile for the .exe file of the Open for Business game. While creating the profile, if you are using a mdf or mds file, direct the game jackal program to the virtual disk location that you use to mount your images on, then when it finally says to put the cd in, mount the image at that time. Once finished, do not activate the profile yet, but leave the game jackal program open.
4. Start safe disc 4 hider program
5. Click hide on the safe disc 4 hider program
6. Activate the profile on the Game Jackal Program
7. The game should play now
I hope this works for you guys, but let me know if you have any problems.
Have you left out any details? I did exactly what you say, but still my game asks for the cd..

can u be more descriptive as step 3 confusesx me, think i did it wrong.. "".. where/how using what?.. think i did, but i get mdsg wanting the cd i cloicked it away, started the hider, then activated the profile and still it wants the cd..

are you using a dvd or cds for open for businss if there is cds, i have a dvd maybe thats why mine wont work, or maybe my image is bad?

Still not working here, not even the newly submitted images, must be because one of my installs was from dvd vs. cd?

Unghhhh - I am getting frustrated !!

I've tried everything to repeat the sucess I had lastnight. I was playing it ok and then quit the game, thinking "hey, it finally worked so I'm all good".

BAH...This morning, nothing works ! sd4hide, CureRom, the images recently posted with just Daemon Tools..Nada...Zip

So it seems to me that CureRom (which is what "accidently worked" lastnight) is the key but there is a randomness to this whole process that I don't like. I mean do I hafta wait till it's dark and the planets are properly aligned again before I can play using my image ? Or is this just a ploy by EA for me to wear out the media and then be forced to buy a replacement ?

Any help would be appreciated.

WGY

no, i sent you a private message please check it..

Did you install your open for busines from cd roms, or was it a dvd?

None of any of the methods anyone has listed has worked for me, i've tried them all...

i cant even use the newly uploaded images to gamecopy world, they all end up with the game saying i need the cd rom..

Ok, those people that used Daemon tools and sd4_hide, care to tell wad emulation options had been enabled in Daemon Tools and which image ? Mini or Full ? cause, it only worked for me when i use CureRom + FULL image.

i used both images uploaded to gamecopyworld, mini/full no idea? all emulations are on, and options checked are automount, autostart, and tray icon..

I've read other posts/forums where u could delete registry keys for scsi and other posts where u could disable cdr drives and it would work and those options also have failed..
