Do the DC's in the US stores today play backups?

Don't have any self booting games, if I get some I'll let you know if they work, I'm sure if they'll read the boot disk they should read self booting games as well, but that's just an assumption, I don't know that for sure...

I have a DC with a FEB 2000 date and it plays backups fine..except for 2 player games won't recognize my other controlers

February 2000 is *VERY OLD*, much much older than the ones that came out with the Copy Protection (October 2000).

Your machine is even older than mine which is totally unprotected.

One word of advice on posting here: Don't drag up message threads from one or two months back. Dredging up old threads is particularly annoying to most seasoned readers, who have already read the majority of the (sometimes long) thread at least a dozen times already!
