whats the difference between the matrix and crystal apart from the crystal allows on-line play?

Yeah pretty much, But for online gamers thats a big plus. To me Its a toss up between the two. I have owned both and currently am using CC. I can honestly say it boots everything i chunk in it.

Their about the same as far as difficulty to install. If you have a steady hand, patience and a little soldering skill you can do it.
