How do I know if I have a post Nov 2000 PAL DC?

I just got a 2nd hand DC that has model no. HKT-3030.
sn. DE910365626.

I bought it 2nd hand without the box

There is no date on the label for when it was made.

How do I know if this is one of the new ones?

Try a known good backup (an AUDIO/DATA version if you can find it).

If it works, it's an older one.

If it doesn't work, try a known good backup (DATA/DATA version).

If it does work, it's a newer one (OCT/2000)

If it doesn't work, it may be one of the select units made on or after 12/00 that have been accused of not working with the newer style games.

I'm pretty sure that that model is pre- October 2001 & should work fine with most backups. The best way to find out is to download the boot disk from DCCOPYWORLD (its recorded in audio/data format)
