Why would i want to reread your post, its overkill, i dont need to do anywhere near that to play SC-CT, ive been playing it without my disk since Daemon Tools 4 came out, "you cant teach your granny to suck eggs"

In a few mins im going to go load up the game to see exactly how little i need do to run it, opening up case and unplugging drives is a absolute NO GO for me, id rather do without and play with the disk or not play at all.

@NetAngel: If I may mention it, it's a bit funny to see you say "have you actually read my post?" to others when you haven't answered the question, I asked you in the second post of this thread, either...

EDIT:

Ok im back,

1) Loaded up SC-CT's .mds in Daemon Tools 4 (all emulations are on not sure if needed but i leave on by default anyhow)

2) Went in Device Manager and dissabled the complete Nvidia ATA(EIDE) Controler (no reboot needed)

3) Clicked shortcut to game and played it.

This is what I need to do to play this game so i dont really need to do a raindance to get it to run.

NetAngel: If you read my post, you'd see that I do NOT own the game yet. I had friends who tried all kinds of "solutions", so that made me wait with my purchase. And as far as I read until now, the available solutions do not work for everybody. For some they work, for others not. And it's still easier to insert the DVD than to unplug IDE-cables or disable them in system manger.

Well, I'm really sorry to annoy you but your test proves nothing at all.

You have Panda Antivirus. Okay. It seems to mess with games so you need to exit it before launching games. Okay. Without an antivirus software running, you're afraid to be online so you disconnect. Okay. However, have you tried:
- unplugging the Ethernet cable from your PC (disconnect by hardware rather than by software);
- exiting Panda Antivirus but staying connected (you probably won't get infected during that half a minute when you try launching a game);
- running other antivirus software (you mentioned Norton Antivirus)?

So, I still believe you haven't answered my question (completely). You see, I'm trying to collect facts into the FAQ but I can't add the information you provided because they're only assumptions (or downright misinformation?), without deeper testing or confirmation from other people...

Hi there,
1, you are right you dont have to dissable any network connection.(sorry for that but i didn`t know that before)
2, yes i must unload panda (i guess that this proggy cant work with sf protections)
3, no i don`t have another antivirus program running, i assumed that norton and panda had the same kernel running.

Please, explain why steps #3 and #4 are necessary; have you checked that the games won't work without these? Thanks!

I do not send CD-keys/serials/games/patches or give support for games/patches, other than patches done by me, so don't bother to ask!
