I have used the search function with no luck so I hope someone can help me?
Why does this error message come up when trying to run a starforce protected game. *********************************************** "The Disc Key you entered does not correspond to the disc in the drive. Make sure you use the correct Disc Key" *********************************************** I don't know why it says this because I know the Key is the correct key, I own the game and it's the same key I've used when playing with the original disc, in some cases like with V8 Supercars 2 and Splinter Cell-Chaos Theory, I've had these games well over 12 months and used them with no problems. So what generates this error message when it's still the same game and CD-Key? I'm trying to run a couple of Starforce 3 games with the new Daemon tools 4 but I still can't get any of them to run, I've unplugged the power and the CD drive cables from the the drives but nothing, nada, zilch and it's pissing me right off. So if anyone knows how to get around this error message or just how to get DT4 to work with any Starforce games I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for any help in advance!

Possibly due to 2 reasons.
1. Bad image, so cant authenticate the cdkey from the image made. 2. Its quite possible your rom/reader's lens is a bit dirty now, try giving it a little clean and make a new image, failing that it could be ready to go out the game, most rom/reader's have a half life so to speak before they start to lose performance. |

If you've downloaded the DPM data from somewhere like Copybase, the disk key will be different to that which came with your disk.

CD Key error message
I havn't downloaded anything, I made the image myself with Alcohol 120 so the CD Key is the same one I use when I play the game with the original. I've checked in the registry and the CD Key is the correct original key but it still comes up incorrect key when I try to run from the image, I have no idea why, maybe it is the lens getting dirty, I will have to clean it and see. The only thing there is that both my drives are nearly new, 2 and 3 months old, even my USB drive is only a few weeks old but who knows maybe cleaning them will work, hope so!
Thanks for help anyway guys

Did you uninstall the Starforce drivers before ripping the image (DPM high, lowest speed poss)? If not then the DPM data will be bust.
Cant think of anything else at the mo. -Leezer- |
