great...thanks Joe, rar file now inziped ok...
so now i guess i just install my myst v backup, overwrite the eoa file with this new one and it will work.... i'll let you know

just my luck..... F^@# it, loaded my backed up copy of Myst v, replaced the eoa.exe file with the downloaded one and fired it up..... it still asked for the origional disc to be inserted.
what have i done wrong?

the exe is possibly only a 'Fixed.exe', meaning you will need to have a backup CD in the drive to play. It may not be a proper 'NoCD.exe'?
