Newsgroups/Usenets are the best, no queues like in IRC. It may or may not cost money. It didn't cost any money for me, because Road Runner, my ISP, supplies a news server free of charge. Check with your ISP to see if they supply one, if not, hit up Yahoo/Google and do a search for free news servers/usenet servers, tons of sites dedicated to that sort of thing.

I also have Road Runner. So where do I go??
