I guess I can't find my answer here, everyone seems to only focus on performance with highend systems. Thanks anyway

DEFRAG YOUR HD :P

Files may be fragmented and thats why your getting slow speeds on loading and while playing.

I read your first message, it's pointless. I play with the PK4's extracted and almost no lag. Haven't defragged my hd's for a while, wonder what I get, all red?

Well put it this way, the more you have been putting on then taking off, eventually sectors will be very fragmented.. So when you installed D3 RoE it may have to have been installed into those fragmented areas. Therefor the large pk4 files may have bits of its file here and there all over the HD, so it takes a bit for the reading head to go from sector to sector.

Fragmentation shouldn't be a problem if you're using NTFS and there's enough room on the partition. I truly hope the NTFS driver is smart enough to NOT start writing data into lots of small holes but rather into the large, continuous space (the lots of room on the partition).

Khm, by the way, this whole thread is off-topic. (I couldn't stand replying to it, though...)
