Wait a minute, are you lot all using the MINI image????

As I said in the last 2, I am doing this with the FULL image of the original CD, not the mini image. If you wewre trying the MI, try using the full .mds of the CD.

MDS is what I used, it also asks me to insert the correct cd-rom all the time.

Yeah, I think that all the discussion about Sega Football Manager 2006 (which is about the 95% of this thread, except the first post and some others) should be located in a new thread, because people is getting confused.

No I think we're cleared up that this thread is about the Sports Interactive/Sega title Football Manager 2006 releasedon October 21st.

The mini Image I definately see being a cause of major fault, as is leavin D-Tools running while executing the game through anti-blaxx.

I would be interested in having other people who had troubles following my advice and see if it works for them, as so far it's got two of us up and running, and worked a third time on my work PC, but let one person down as well, so If it is working with everyone else we can look a little deeper at whats causing whateverandever1982's problems more specifically.

So anyone havign trouble, or even if you have it going, if you wouldn't mind trying the D-Tools/Alcohol (some results from both would help) and Anti-blaxx method, and report back with your results.

@floyd146
If you no longer have the disc then we can not help you! Read the forum rules, no disc=no help!

Why has it taken so long? It's not hard to do so.
Like you say, its not hard to do, so why dont you just do it instead of expecting others to do everything for you?

@whateverandever1982
Before uninstalling either Alcohol 120 or Daemon Tools always make sure to unmount any images in the virtual drives first! If you dont you will certainly have problems reinstalling! There is a article describing this problem on the alcohol site.

Oh damn, that'd be my bad! I asked him to uninstall and didnt think that not unmounting would be an issue.

Sorry!!!

And Ikonify, I don't think his image has anything wrong with it meself, I really think the configuration of all the programs is the key to this one.

It wont let me re-install Daemon now, right, I have uninstalled everything again and will try it again later and follow these steps

Quote:
Make sure your image is .mdf format, from Alcohol 120%
Install Daemon Tools, mount the .mds image and EXIT DAEMON TOOLS. This means it should NOT be running in your taskbar at all!
Install and run AntiBlaxx. Right click on the icon in your taskbar and click on Settings.
Click the button next to Deamon Tools in the popup window and browse to the .exe file.
In the "Protection" box select "SecuROM 5"
Click the button next to the "Game" field and browse to the fm.exe file wherever you installed the game.
Tick the box that says "Mount Image", make sure that the circular box next to Daemon Tools to the right of this is selected, then click the button next to the Image box and browse to the mds file. Finally make sure device is set to Device 0 (assuming you didn't ceate additional virtual drives in Daemon Tools)

When all this is done, make sure Daemon Tools IS NOT RUNNING and right click the anti-blaxx icon, go up to Run Game and select the only one in there (default name is simply Gamename).

Now it will seem like nothing is happening. Double click the FM2006 shortcut on your desktop and an error box apppears saying the game is already running. Click the button to close that error message and wait a moment, the game will load. After that you should be able to run it from antiblaxx everytime you want to play.
Instead changing the Daemon Tools bits to Alcohol, right now I am hungry tho.

Hi, i have tried all the advice that has been posted but have the problem that when FM tries to load, an error message appears saying that the program has encountered an error and needs to close, when i click to see what data the error report contains and then technical information about the error report, it says the following files will be included in this error report:

C:\DOCUME~1\james\LOCALS~1\Temp\6bae_appcompat.txt

I would be grateful for any help, as it is getting me very stressed.

Ok, I got it working, then I quit and tried it again and then FM loaded but only a black screen and then it came up with the 'pls insert correct' cd error so now it doesnt load at all, I give up with this now.

Yep, that all still applies, just with Alcohol not Daemon as you said. And do NOT change compatibility!!!!!!!

I'm off in a bit but will be home from work around 6ish and log back on to see if I can help more and *hopefully* get some feedback from others.

My mate has his PC at mine so I may try it totally from fresh on his, depends if I can be bothered to uninstall it all again afterwards cos well, sod him he wants the game he can shell out like I had to!

On a side note, to anyone asking us for the full image:- We PAID for this game outta our own hard earned. Now I'm sorry of you're disc isn't available at present, and while I accuse no one of anything, it's obviously very easy to make up some reason you can't use the original right now, but I don't think anyone would be happy to pay full whack then start helping anyone else get it free. If you bought a painting would you loan it out to others to do a tracing of? Hell no, it's your painting, it goes on your wall and people come to your place to admire it.

Sorry if that's harsh but it may keep this thread to discussion on solving problems, not a repeated request.
