I had success making a backup of Dark Cloud. I have heard that the gold DVD-R knackers up the plastation as it reflects the laser back on itself. The purple coloured bottom discs are the best to use.
I used a Pioneer disc that came with the writer, but have heard TDK, Verbatim etc. work just as well.
