Help With ToCA Race Driver 2

I'm using the reloaded patch.

I'm running win2k (SP4- fully updated), P4 [email protected] / 6800GT@415/1100 (81.84's) and every other game works! Toca 2 is the only game that Does Not Work! And I keep getting this error.

RD2.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point RestoreLastError could not be located in the dynamic link libarary kernel32.dll

Now if this is an issue with my configuration or software then why is it that toca2 is the ONLY! game that does this? I have like 25 other games installed non of them do this. GTR even runs on this system without a problem!!

By the time that this acutally works Toca 3 will be out and that will be even more of a P.O.S.

RestoreLastError is an XP (or higher) export from kernel32.dll, technically the crack is bad for any os under xp, because RestoreLastError has to be changed to GetLastError or SetLastError (cant remember which but i think its the first one), this can be done by hexediting the import table of the exe, fixing it and making it work on 2k (or higher) again... its been discussed before..

I found out that toca2 works on win2k, it's just the crack that isn't compatable. But I guess that there is a fix for the fix. Now I'm just trying to find it

Thanks for the info but i can't get it to work, what am i doing wrong ?

W2k up to date.

With the reloaded exe i get a RestoreLastError so i edited it with XVI32(free hex editor), replaced Restore with Get or Set i get a different error; "The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll".

Any other things to be changed ?

GetLastError and you have to overwrite the RestoreLastError with that, and make sure that the last character is 00 hex, so its terminated, im guessing you didnt hex edit it properly

Did it like this (also with Set instead of Get, same error);

When i'm done i just save the file and run it. (saved its exactly the same size as reloaded one)

I have the same problem. I cant start game when I edit RD2.exe in hexeditor . And what is the letter i in the front (i)??? I have there ż.RestoreLastError.. What I need to do???? (Sorry for my language becouse Iam not from USA or GB etc.)

I tried this again. Just like how you showed and it still doesn't work, now it says GetLastError not found in kernel32.dll instead of RestoreLastError.

Yes, please someone make a working rd2.exe for win2k and upload it. or place a link here so everyone that wants it can grab it.

Could someone please make a proper NO-DVD-CRACK for version 1.2 of "DTM Race Driver 2" that works on all Windows operating systems, like "Windows XP with SP1"?!
