Need help burning a "backup"
Ok, so I found a site where I got a backup(I own the game... No really, I do;P) for Ultimate Fighting Championship and I download it. All goes well, I un-RAR it and all, burn it ok, but the damn thing won't work on my DC! I've already wasted 3 CDs on this, and I would like some feedback.
1st try, I didn't know much what to do, so I followed a guide at the site where I acquired the iso. I'm gonna quote what they said, because if I linked to it I would be linking to ISOs, and would be banned ![]() "1-9. (Some crap about downloading and un-RARing) 10. Start Discjuggler. 11. Click File ----> New 12. You see a popup window, select CD Image to CD Recorder and press OK. 13. In the Source box, type in the location of the cdi file. 14. Under the Advanced tab, under Mode, select Mode 1. 15. In the Action box, select Write. Change nothing else. 16. Click on Start. Click Ok when it asks you to start actual burn. 17. When the recording is done, Put the CD in your Dreamcast and turn it on. 18. You see the Dreamcast logo and the Sega logo and then the game boots! No need for a boot cd! Note: If you still get errors while burning then try lowering your burning speed and/or enable RAW write. If Discjuggler doesn't recognise your burner then try CDI2NERO" This didn't work. I tested it with and without the Utopia 1.1 boot cd and nothing. 2nd try. I had noticed that DJ said the cdi file had 2 sections, and from reading around the forums I concluded that the first one was audio and 2nd was video or gameplay(I don't really remember now) and linked to a guide on some site(which I can't find now, it had xead or something in the name) that said to use some weirdass programs to decompress the cdi into 2 isos and burn them with CDRWIN. I do so, and it STILL doesn't work. 3rd try. From reading some more posts around the forums, I decide to uninstall Discjuggler, reinstall it and burn without changing a SINGLE SETTING. Once again, it burns but won't work on the DC. I'm using DJ 3.50.800, Utopia boot CD 1.1, and my DC was made in August 2000. I left the computer alone during the burning process in all 3 occasions, and on all 3, I tested to see if it was self-booting, and then with the bootcd. Any feedback would be appreciated, since this is pissing me off:P |

I'm using a hp 9100 and generic 700MB CDs. I think the problem might be the CDs, but I want to be sure before I try them on more expensive CDs... Can I burn them on 650MB cds? Because I have a couple of Verbatins here, but I dunno if 650MB is enough.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... The generics I'm using worked when making the Boot Disk and the VCD player, a couple of days ago, if that makes any difference... |

to inuit:
ALL Settings required are set in the cdi file. You dont have to set anything in dj!! you must look how great are the images if you wanna burn them to an 650 cdr. some games will some not.

But like, is it possible that the generic CDs may be the problem? If I buy a Verbatin 700MB, will it work?

Traxdata also works fine ,... mabe its really the blank ........ since the iso seems to be oki if dj shows you that its 2 sessions ,....if it would be bad ... it would say ..."cannot define ...using user default ..." after you press the burn button ,..... i use the coloured ones verbatim ,.... verbatim ,as on the psx ,mabe the best you can use ... i should be paid from verbatim ,...shouldnt i ;-) I do not see your post now here ,have you tried cdi2nero ,and burned in nero then ??? that worked also very good ,..sometimes i need to do that ,now i think it was my dj version which troubled.. since i do not need nero now anymore .... anywas try converting and burn with nero also ... muppey |

I totally disagree Muppet man... I have used the absolute cheapest CDs on the market and have never had a problem.
I get most of my CDs in 100 count spindles for $25. I have tried everything. From Mitsumi to Memorex... They all work fine. I have even used colored CDRs.. (red, purple, black and yellow). If there is a game I like, and want to go the whole nine, I will put the game on a silver/silver CD, with the nice glossy label, and make a CD case... If not.. I just freakin use a Sharpie. lol |
