How the hell can we help you if we dont really know what your problem is? Take it to a repair shop!...

the problem is clear the dc stays on the date/time setup screen and won't boot up any games.

the reasion that im asking for help is that it might be something like an internal battery that need replacing or some kind of system reset that i dont know about that doesn't warrent going to a repair shop
if it can be fixed by myself if not ill buy a new one as i think it will be cheaper then a repair.

as far as i know it might of been a common problem

so thank you for the amazing help that you have given me
im so sorry that ive wasted your time.

As was mentioned before though, if we don't know *WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM*, how can we help you out?

The battery is soldered down to the controller-jack circuit board, so if it is the battery, you still require a service center.

Another option, since it might cost you up to $100+ to get it repaired, is go buy a new machine. It would guarantee you that it works, and you probably wouldn't spend any more than what the service center charges you...

Hi M8, I your looking for advice around here it is very unlikely, ppl in here are more likely to post messages saying how they cannot help you, which is sorta F.U..
Anyway, heres a simple but affective Idea.
Buy a brand new DC, Take the inside of the new dc out of the box and swap em with yours..
There is no way for anyone to know...
When they do find out it would be too late..
Then take your new dc back to the shop, complete with the broken dc hidden inside the new box..
Changing the inside is really simple, Keep everything organised and you can't go wrong..
It'll get you a new dreamcast for Free...

Trust me its the fastest way to fix a broken DC
