running fifa 06!!! need help!!

iv installed fifa 06 but when i launch it it says "fifa06.exe had encountered a problem and needs to shut down...etc..etc.." then i get the option to send error or dont send..

please please help!!!! my pc specs are well above what is required to run the game

Reinstall both latest Sound card and graphic card drivers first.

If this does not solve the problem


Contact EA games with detailed information about the error msg..


One last question does this do this with a no-cd only, or/and with your original cd.

Do you have the original cd?

thanks for replying.. ok,il give u a run down of whats going on.. bought the game friday and when i installed it for the first time it crashed during installation saying "a problem occurred when tryinf to transfer the file (file name here) from the media "....so i thought i re boot the machine and try again. it installed fully this time but when i went to launch it i got the error that i posted in my first message (above)... i updated ALL my drivers - graphics card etc.. no joy. so i thought maybe a dodgy disc. brought the game back, got a new copy,but even when i went install that it wud crash during installation "a problem occurred...." blah blah blah... oh yeah, the file that crashed during installation was a DIFFERENT file each time!! i tried installing it tons of time but always crashed. then i updated my cdrom/dvd drive and tried the installation again. and at the first attemp it installed! i thought it wud finally work but then when i went to launch the game it said "fifa06.exe had encountered a problem...."

my head is melted! is it my pc? when i installed the game i used the EA help file in the fifa folder to determine whether or not ur pc is powerful enough to run the game. as i knew it would, my pc passed the test with flying colours.. i havnt installed any patches or fixes..this is just using the original cd...

if u have any suggestions as to what might be wrong id appreciate it greatly! wasnt tiger woods for the pc recalled last year cos of a dodgy batch of cds?

Thats a possibility yes..

But my thoughts now, is bad memory stick..

If you have 2 take out 1 start the game..

If it fails try with the other..

If it passes then you know which stick is good.


Its possible both are bad..


General Rules..

1. Stick to the same speed of memory, dont mix and match, i.e. dont put in a 512mb PC3200 and 512mb PC2700.

2. Keep to same brand if possible, although not a necessity it prolongs your memory life if you do so.

3. Go for memory with Parity Checking/EEC. Its worth a bit more, not much, but means alot in performance and possible crashings that wont occur so easily.
