I guess that means the easiest route is to get what you want is to edit the savegame file.. (i admit i've been wanting to do the same thing, as a way of getting myself a bigger budget)

for files like savegames that come out as just strange characters with notepad, what software/program can open and make sense of them though??

Off topic I know, but I think all PC games should come with built in sandbox modes or trainers where you can do anything you want when you have completed the game and are getting bored with it!!!

Any one remember how easy editing was back on the C-64. I was a God in those days, those long forgotten days of yore. Why dont I see very many super easy to use editing programs?, that non tech heads could use

I guess the code for games nowadays is a lot more complex and limiting unless you are a whizz at programming. Old formats like the Sinclair ZX Spectrum128k were great I had one. 128k of memory, canyou believe that!!??
