Problem is the V4s themselves have a faulty lazer, it will still fail eventually even if I replace it, and I am worried about what problems usign a chip on a system that I play FFXI on as well as use cheat devices (on my OFFline games of course) might do. The older Gameshark dosent even BOOT if a hdd is attached. It also means almost a month of not being able to play FFXI or any other ps2 game while its being modded, the modchip, install, new lazer, and install will probably cost about 75% as much as a new premod PS2 anyway.

Anyone?
I am thinking maybe I should get a V9 or V10 (considering ive been told that they seem to have the best lazers, media tolerance, and suport anti-mod ps1 games, of which I have a few local and imprted). But is the V9/10 ones the old ps2 models? I dont like the slim ones. Also, I was told to get a romeo mod laser fix for it, what is that? And I thaught only the slim ps2s needed a lazer fix?
