There are a few tools by a guy named "Kikachu" that can be used via BBA/serial cable and dcload
vmsave.bin - dumps every entire VM to a DCM file vmload.bin - uploads DCM back to VM cards vmurip.bin - rips all saves in first VM to DCI files You then use DC Linker 2.3 to manage DCM/DCI files. So it's rather clumsy, and when writing back, you need to write back the whole card at once, but it can be done. Vorlem can also be used as a more "elegant" solution, but as mentioned before it has bugs. |

If you have your own save and want to transfer it to a VMU, you upload the save from your computer to some web hosting, and then use the DC browser to download the save. (using the URL www.yourhost.com/yourdir/save.vmi) |

I wish there was dialup emulation software, so I could dial into my own computer (broadband) for internet access via my Dreamcast.
Either way, there's still no good way to simply upload/download saves via dc-load (ie. serial cable or BBA). If I want to write one save, I have to write the whole card again, using the kikuchan tools. We're still waiting bucanero

I have to re-start my VMU tool from scratch, but I'm really overloaded with homework and examns in my university right now. (it's my last semester so in december I'll hopefully get my engineering degree )In any case, I'll do it sooner or later, just stay tuned.

I hope so! Vorlem would be okay, except it just crashes on some saves, doesn't support time stamps/read only files etc. properly (Uses vmi/vms instead of DCI) and other things. It's such a shame it never got an update.
I haven't tried lately, but would yours work for simply saving DCI files, via dc-tool CDFS redirection/iso mounting? Then I can use vmurip for ripping the files... We really do just need a barebones save/load with nothing fancy... maybe you can do that first, then add all the fancy GUI elements and so on. Also, what about a standalone command line tool to convert between DCI and VMI/VMS? The existing tools for doing so are extremely cumbersome (and don't preserve all attributes).
