Currently, there is only one way to play the game from a backup, regardless of what anyone else says. And that is by inserting a copy made with Alcohol 120% into an External USB/DVD drive with RMPS emulation on. Currently, there is no other method. And chances are, StarForce will probably fix this method. Fortunatly, the next version of Daemon Tools (v4), will support StarForce.
The reason that External Drives work is because StarForce does not recognize them and therefore cannot use its own drivers. Which then allows RMPS Emulation to work. There is no way to play without a DVD until Daemon Tools v4 comes out.
