cpu shutting down spontaneously, Sony dvd-rom ddu1621
I have a sony dvd-rom ddu1621. It causes the computer to shut down unexpectedly. It sounds like the system slows prior to shut down. Anyone else have this problem? Any place to get updated drivers? The dvd rom is in use when this happens. eg. game play

Be sure to check the CPU fan. I had a bad fan do this very thing once. It would only happed if the drive was in use. It would cause the puter to overheat and shutdown. This may or may not help. Anyway i hope you get it sorted.

What wattage is your PSU, if this is being overloaded it could cause this failure.
This is very unlikely to be a driver problem, sounds more like the system is being stressed. Also check your CPU heatsink isn't too dusty, that the CPU fan is running and that it too is not clogged with dust.
