I believe you are right when I said that but either way should work. As long as you use the new bin2boot as wayne mentioned above, you should be fine. I think the tutorial actually says to keep it in the root directory.
Try to follow the steps that I posted in the other thread. If you need help in one of the steps, just ask and i'll try to clarify things a bit.
