I also overclock my system.
I have a: Athlon64 3200+ 1Gb Ram 6800 GT @ 425/1150 (past ultra) Never had a problem with any games. Your overclock probably isnt causing it unless you have crap cooling. Have you made sure your nvidia drivers are up to date? Try the 77.50 drivers from www.guru3d.com Also is your motherboards bios up to date & all your motherboard chipset drivers? 4Gb of ram will slow your system down, use 2Gb max if I were you. With 4Gb you're limiting your overclock & also it'll run slower. The more memory you have the longer it'll take to access. Get 1 or 2 Gb with good timings for best results. The only game that benefits from 2Gb over 1Gb at the moment is the battlefield 2 demo!! |

I just cleaned the dust out of the system. Let's hope it works. I have my vid card use 2 gigs as it's own because in games like Boiling Point, this makes it run super smooth. Oh, and 512 mb cards for doom 3, pffffffffffft, I got a 2.25 gb geforce 6800 ultra
And it's good ram, OCZ!!!! Will try my stuff now. |

Well postaldudeleo you should really take a look at what you are writing here... Let the Geforce use 2gb ram on its own, no way. There is no way you can adress the RAM to use for graphics (unless you are thinking of APG Aperture Size but thats bull**** with 2gb on that one, sooo unecessary).
And I kinda figuread that you meant you had 2.25gb RAM (OCZ brand, yes good ram I agree on that) and a Geforce 6800 Ultra (that has 512mb RAM). But lets get into the 4gb RAM discussion here... That is not needed as windows can't adress more than 3576mb RAM meaning that whats over will be "backup temp storage" for PIA units and the like... Also when having 2.25gb ram I figure that would be... hmmm... 2x1gb sticks + 1x256mb stick.. That would kill a lot of the system as it would disable Dual-Channel... Anyway back on topic here... Get the crackfix and try that one, or play with your original disc. If it still crashes I would say that some driver is crap or that some of your hardware is failing in you!

Thats right AGP app dude, yea! I did that for Boiling Point. Oh, and I do need as much ram as I can get as I use both my system in Maya 6 which takes almost a gig of ram, sometime more when rendering complex pics. (Oh, the 256 mb is ddr3 that is the normal my vid card has embedded.)
Oh, and AGP app does help with games such as Boiling Point. Finally, yes that was a rant, but the point is that my system works like the shizzle in any other software yet crashes only in this game. Even with my original cd, this thing still crashes. I think there is a patch coming. |

Still can't see the need for 4gb of RAM I would rather buy like 1TB of HDD and be happy with 2gb RAM...
Do a recheck on your drivers, reinstall the game and simply for testing downclock the sytem...

Hi folks!
Well, a friend of mine also experienced gamefreezes after a few minutes of running this game.
The Game stops, but radio still keeps playing. But: Just the running game died and you couldnīt switch back to desktop or pop the taskmanager to front. The System itself still stays running and accessable - via lan the machine itself could be used - we even could start another instance of the game via lan at the other system :-D As I donīt own the game by myself, I couldnīt examine the problem deep enough, but the simple update of his gfx-drivers from 66.xx to the latest 71.xx-detonator-series (hell, donīt remember how they gonna call īem today) seems to fix his issues. His Machine: Athlon 3000+ WinXP Pro SP2 NVidia GF4600 Ti European Multi-Language GTA-SA NoDVD-Fix All Languages Sorry if I repeat already mentioned things. i found out due reading a lot of forums posts on gtaforums.com that Realtek Drivers are the Problem (nforce 4 ac97 on board). I installed latest version hoping that this will fix it. BUT: it was worse. Game did not crash after 15min. it crashed after 1min. So I took my mainboard driver disk and installed A3.66 Version of Realtek Drivers (removed the newer one before).
Worked like it did after I bought my new pc. So Updating drivers is not the best thing to do everytime ![]() This cost me about 5hours of play time.
