Anyway i have being reading many threads and it doens't look like the is a trusted way to play SCCT.
It is possible to play with a USB 2.0 drive. But Starforce would still be installed on your system.

I don't think many people would complain if Starforce wasn't basically a virus that is installed covertly and in many cases interferes with other software and hardware. Up until recently they didn't even want to give out an uninstaller. What is that? That's the behavior of malware and is technically illegal in the US, and probably other countries as well.

People need to complain to publishers, and they need to boycott software that utilizes schemes like Starforce if it comes down to it, otherwise it's just going to keep getting worse until you won't really have control over your PC, it'll be more like something you rent than own; with a dozen publishers spying on you while you use it!

After trawling the splinter cell 3 threads hard, it seems pretty conclusive that noone is going to be playing off their backups anytime soon. Which makes me wonder why so many ppl post saying THIS DOESNT WORK! which has already been amply established. Perhaps the right thing to do would only be to post if it DOES work for you, instead of filling the boards with disgusting salty spam in a can.

PS - it didnt work for me :P

If you would have read the thread you would have saw that VH14a did say that he/she had it working from an image with Daemon tools. Though addition posts, that you call spam, we have concluded that it is most likely something to do with RAID. And besides, this is a discussion board, we are supposed to talk about things like this here.

Question

Hello, fellas.
I'm new around, but I've had my shots with SC3.
I was wondering if someone has seen what I saw...
After mounting the mini-image, I run the game and then a window shows up asking for a certain "disk key" to be inserted. If I had that damn code...
Anyway, have you guys ever seen it?

Don't ask for serials/CD keys; read forum rule #2!

Any SF protected games ive had, ive made a DPM and mounted with daemon tools and.

BUT

I had to rename the bus names on the daemon installer to something other than the default.

Then with DT running I right click the icon on the taskbar and goto the first drive then drive properties, at the top is 3 headings which I change to other entries. Enable all emulation (Including RPMS).

Then I mount the image, close daemon tools (keeping emulation running), Run Starforcenightmare disabling channel 2 and node (Since I have sata I disabled ATA also - not wise if you have IDE HD's), install the game (works best with SATA drives).

It then works with any SF games, also any other protected game.

Have you tried this with the latest version of StarForce? I always thought that Daemon Tools was blacklisted.

OK, this is really starting to piss me off. Folks, if you're going to write a detailed explanation, DON'T DON'T USE ABREVIATIONS.... How the hell do we know what DPM means???

The very first rule of writing anything (espacially a step by step manual) is to assume that the reader (no matter who he or she is) knows NOTHING. And I mean NOTHING AT ALL.
If I am talking about missiles and I throw the abbreviation SARH you guys have no clue what this is unless you know something about missiles. but if I place the abbreviation and then add (Semi active Radar Homing) you instantly can identify with it. Not everyone here knows what the hell your abbreviations are so PLEASE PLEASE explain in detail. Never assume we're smart enough to decipher it. After all, this is what we're trying to avoid.
