I assume you read my first reply - that you boot with the Utility Disk. Most likely then that you have the modchip.com 8 wire mod (which I still have although I've had the OrigaChip fitted on top of it).
Your burner is fine (set read retry count to 10 to give it some chance if there is a blob on the CD!). Your CDRWin settings are fine; RAW is important. Data speed need not be 1x unless the source media is suspect. You didn't provide any detail of what happened with the UP. It picks up the BIN file you created with CDRWin and does three things: 1) It renames the main game file 2) It amends the system file to reflect the new name of the main game file 3) It puts a patch advertising itself in the main game file A couple of minutes later it reports "Successfully Patched". Did this happen? Because you produced a CUE/BIN file combination at the first CDRWin stage, you should not check RAW on burning. The CUE sheet tells CDRWin what to do. From what you described as your actions, it should all work. What did UP report? Or did it simply not boot the game produced by CDRWin? Have you successfully played a backup before and if so how was it produced? |
