I'm reduced to the label of 'A guy' now lol!

Come on Mr Foster, you've been here long enough to know your way around GCW, choose a mirror, enter the site and on the right hand side is a SEARCH box use the SECOND one down and type in SCRAPLAND, hit the search button underneath it and BINGO!

It's the DIE one you want, I made the small patch rather than mail in 80mb of file!! You original English.Packed files should be 77,190,961 bytes for the patch to work!

I apologize for that Barry. I can't get the crack to work, because the file size is wrong. My English.Packed file size is 77,485,888, and this is a shop bought UK original. So when the file says:

'If you get an error patching 'English.packed' then you have the wrong version
of the game, sorry!'

It should say 'If you get an error patching 'English.packed' then you have the original version, which this crack won't work on'.

I'm currently downloading the 80mb DIE file, and If that doesn't work it's USB trick or play from original.

Hi guys,

The RTPatch system is capable of "historic updates", as well. E.g. if you want to release a v1.0/v1.1/v1.2 -> v1.3 update for your game, you can stuff three updates into one package. The RTPatch system will check what version the file on your hard disk is; e.g. v1.0 gets patched to v1.1, then v1.2 and finally v1.3, invisibly to the user. Also, if you already have v1.3, it won't display an error message but say "file is already up-to-date".

BarryB, to avoid problem reports coming from, uhm, "not-so-knowing" users, you might wanna do some similar update package that converges all language versions of the game to the same result. (For that, you will need copies of all original files, of course.) Please, don't get me wrong, I'm not putting extra burdens onto your shoulder as, although I'm not interested in this game, I acknowledge your efforts! Just an idea how to make your package even more useful...!

Joe

Are you saying I need to patch the game in order for the updater to work?

Nope, I was just saying that, instead of an update package that can update only one language version of the game as source, perhaps, BarryB could do another, more comprehensive update package that accepts multiple language versions of the game as source. (Dunno what this particular patching stuff is exactly about as I'm not interested in this game... )

OK, I've downloaded the 80gb DIE image. I replaced my current English.Packed file with this one, and the game runs fine. Is the file I've downloaded part of the W****Z version, and thus has an altered English.Packed file, or are there several UK versions of the game?

You downloaded 80gb WOW!! You must have some connection to grab 80 GIG!! LOL!!

And all cracks are probably from w***z versions, where else would they come from?

I have the US English version of the game hence the difference in file size, it's localised to each region. Your UK version will probably have slightly different spelling or text in the game.

Seeing as you already have the US crack and the UK version I can probably help you make a patch from your UK version, it will turn the UK file into the US one but, as you say it seems to work on the UK version, then who cares

PM if you're interested!
