I am using cloneDVD 2.8.2.1 and AnyDVD 5.1.1.1 and I can't burn. I am pretty sure the disc is fine because it's brand new.
Media is CSS protected! RCE protection not found. Found & removed wrong DVD structure! Structural copy protection not found. Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD! Found & removed 4 bad sector protections! Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1! Skelaratus I read your other post too, but AnyDVD isn't catching all the locks you mentioned. I think that could be the problem, but my AnyDVD is the latest (5.1.1.1) wonder why it works for you but not for me. Did you uninstall your old version before reinstalling? I get a VOB read error (data error: cyclic redundancy check). Anyone get the same problem? Tyler could you tell us what shrinking/burning combo you used? Edit: I've finally succeeded by using Decryptor to extract to hdd, then shrinking/burning w/ cloneDVD. I think the reason anydvd/cloneDVD worked for some but not for others is that Sony made different kinds of discs w/ different locks. I'm only speculating, but i can't think of any other logical reason. Last edited by panda123; 27-04-2005 at 03:24. |

Well I dont think Sony puts different locks on their DVDs, but they may mix it up by region, who knows =o) But I usually rip the DVD to my hard drive with DVD Shrink. AnyDVD runs in the background, so no need to do anything with it. After DVDShrink goes through I take the ISO and burn it with DVDDecrypter. There were a few times when AnyDVd wasnt as up to date to catch all the errors. In that case use VOBBlanker. That will rip the DVD to your hard drive and clean up the VOB files of any protections. Then after that you shrink it with DVDShrink, and then burn it with your favorite ISO burning program. I keep all these tools available because you never know what Sony will throw at us next.

Yep its discontinued. There wont be any more newer DVDShrinks availiable. I think the author went to work with NERO. So maybe youll see it in upcomming Nero software.
The way I do things: I use DVDShrink to shrink all my menu's and bonus features, leaving the movie itself un touched. Then I use CloneDVD on that to get rid of scenes, trailers, or bonus features I dont want and finally encode the movie to dvd5 size. Youll get a way better looking movie that way. Tyler!
