non MIL-CD dreamcast boot cd Questions PLEASE HELP ME!
I have a "new" model DC that was made after Oct. 2000 - a non MIL-CD DC - that does not play CD-R games; it detects them as audio CDs. I have tried to use the method described here countless times .... http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_backup_faq.shtml#6.1
however, all goes well until the bin2boot program needs to be used. It fails everytime. Does anybody know how I can play import/burned games on my non MIL-CD dreamcast??? PLLLLEEEAAASSSEE >_____< im so sad without my DC games! i need help from a DC expert, for I am surely a newbie. |

Try to get something like Boot CD but You must get it on orginal GD. Orginal Action Replay, Game Shark, Code Breaker or Xploader not supporting backups so u need get Import Enabler or DC-X but I am not sure it will work and I think this is one only way (if possible) to run backups on ur DC.

U must get DC-X on orginal. Any other versions will not work and alll cheat devices not working with backups (only hacked versions on backup). Your DC has modilfied bios so mod chip isnt quite good idea. Simply u must get ORGINAL version of DC-X or ORGINAL version of Import Enabler. I am not sure it will work but i dont see any other way to run backups.

I have the original DC-X... this product: http://www.goldenshop.com.hk/AI-trad..._htm/d_dcx.htm (i didnt buy it from that website, but i have the official, i think that is what you meant by original, copy)
everytime i follow the directions that I mentioned on my aforementioned link in regards to megagames.com, i get to the part about bin2boot successfully. And then when I use the bin2boot command: bin2boot BOOTCD.ISO /nohack I get asked a question: Do I want to create ip.bin? Then when I hit "y" i get an error message and am sent back to DOS. or if I hit "n" the program just exits completley and automatically. I have tried running this program in compatibility with my current windows xp as well as win98. Im getting a mac powerbook this weekend and i will try it on there as well. But in the mean time... can anybody help me with this???? i desperately want to play shenmue II again!!! **** once again, I have a US Dreamcast made after Oct. 2000 (non MIL-CD dreamcast) that does not play any CD-Rs and thus no imports because every boot disc/cheat device --to the best of my knowledge-- is on a black CD-R bottom. I am thinking of also trying a mod-chip out.... which ones are good/which once should I try for my dreamcast??? any links? Last edited by mw86d; 30-04-2005 at 00:53. |

You need to make the first session 45000 LBA or bigger instead of 11700/11702.
Everything remains the same from what you know, the sessions, binhack, etc. |
