Ok when i updated i simply went from retail version to 1.3 no probs @ all. I also can continue my campaign etc. Why not copy patse your save game folder onto desk top. Reinstall game. Paste the save game folder back into the original location (over-writing old save game folder). Install 1.3 patch . That way if its works (and it should) you will still be able to continue your campaign.
