Nope. My PSX doesn't even see the CD-RW.

I'm sure the condition of the laser has something to do with it as well.

Seeing as there has never been a pressed PSX game, ever, on a cd-rw there is no requirement for the Playstation to even recognise cd-rw.
This is exactly the same as some early burners, in fact my Teac SCSI, which has backed up all my PSX titles, does not recognise a cd-rw as a disc of any description.
