Will the PSX read CD-RWs or only CD-Rs?

I dont think it reads cd-rw's. Maybe Tyler or someone else can confirm.

Ive never used cdrw on my psx. Im not thinkin it would work but heck your not really gonna loose anything if you try and it doesnt. So I say go ahead and try. Be sure to post your results here though.

They do but not very well, Infiniti or Datawrite CD-rw's seemed to be the best.

Nope. My PSX doesn't even see the CD-RW.

I'm sure the condition of the laser has something to do with it as well.

Seeing as there has never been a pressed PSX game, ever, on a cd-rw there is no requirement for the Playstation to even recognise cd-rw.
This is exactly the same as some early burners, in fact my Teac SCSI, which has backed up all my PSX titles, does not recognise a cd-rw as a disc of any description. |
