@clever_user: Why don't you try it yourself? Make a recursive copy of all files and subdirectories of the installed game, apply the patch to it and do a recursive compare (I think, Windows/Total Commander has such a function).
@pizzy: Most updates include a text file that describes the modifications in the update. You may even see this list on the official patch download page.
