I didn't think the DVD-Drive had anything to do with the decryption of the xbox software.. I was pretty sure all that was done in the console itself.. I've never heard of a DVD-Drive replacing a mod chip.. I know a lot of people get the modified drives to help out with DRE's and faster load times but I doubt they could do that.. Even if you hijacked the firmware off a legit Xbox DVD-Rom drive..
This would be a good question for Quall. He keeps up on these types of things. How much is the guy asking for it? And are there any bids?.. Do a google search and see if you can come up with any news about this type of thing.. I'm in the dark on this new stuff. |

just looks like a hacked PC dvd-rom. It does everything the normal xbox drives do, and nothing more. It just is more compatible with media, like off dvd brands and cd-r's.
