When I said 'Playing' from original, I meant Installing from Original.

I've got the original as well Karl. the reason I used the NODVD fix was because I wanted to test it out, which I did straight away. I've not played the Campaign fully yet, but I did a re-install from the original without the fix, and for me the game seemed to play the same. I say 'seemed', because due to the open ended nature of this game, you're never really sure what you're going to come across. However, I concede that you may be correct. It does seem ominous that the Latest Starforce is strangely the easiest of all to crack. I've posted your concerns to other followers of the game on other Forums, so hopefully se can get some feedback on this quickly.

P.S. Karl, did you install from a backup, or from the Desktop? I know it shouldn't make any difference, but I installed the game from a Desktop file dump from the DVD. Also, when asked to install the auto updater, I chose not to do this. Maybe that could mak e a difference.

Karl
I apologize and concede to you better judgment. Yes, the game is different when installed without the fix. Looks like Starforce is not beaten yet. Thanks for pointing this out, I would have been carrying on with the ****y fix, and losing out on the game 'proper', so to speak.

Also, I suppose it's possible that the Illegal version has more fixes in it, and those using the original can't cross-link with Warezzed files, so to speak.

K so u guys have a original DVD of silent hunter 3. Got some questions to figure out if the reloaded version is really cracked properly or not.

In career mode i only get patrol missions do you get any other types of missions. i know these were important in those days, but some variation would be nice.

Do you get strange behaviour sometimes when u change base, and the game tries to change it into the things in the opening screen like options single missions even <null>(this one is a clear indication that there is something wrong with the code, could be crack related).

Also when u report in sunken ships, the only reply u get is "keep up the good work" same for you guys?

The game looks awesome, but it lacks some ww2 authenticity imo. A diary written by a fictional character that explains the going ons in naval warfare and submarine warfare in particular would been really nice. Now i get a feeling that these romanians that created the game felt pleased with just creating an oustanding graphics engine, and left out the ww2 feel.

To be honest, this is such an open ended game, that it plays differently every time. I just patch to v1.1 and play from the DVD. Besides, this version of Starforce has not given me the grief I normally get. I think they've improved the compatability problems they had with earlier versions. the NODVD fix DOES change elements of the game. The simple fact that this occurs means I don't use it. I have to laugh at the guys on the N****E Forums, moaning about the game playing the same as the bought version. Seeing as those guys have never bought a game in their life, I find it ironic that they can comment on this. They are just trying to find solace that their stolen software is working properly. If they like it so much, why don't they buy the damn game! I've had hundreds of E-Mails with "Could you try this, and could you try that"

Cheeky Sods.

LOL I love how these forums act like they aren't a source for pirates. Who do you think comes here.. people looking for legit nocd crack? Ok thats like 5%, of course that's not counting the huge % who play along with the rules and pretend they have legit copies.
A little clue, those pirates don't buy games because they can get them for free and have plenty of tools who will buy them to keep the supply coming. And if you think people's stolen copies aren't working the same as the one you spent real money on your are the sadly deluded.
Do waht you will ban this account, won't stop me from coming to the site to get all thecracks I need. In fact before I discovered this place I was foolishly buying software because it was a hassle to update a cracked game. Thanks for making it so easy to keep a current version without the hassle and expense of purchase.

Anyway go back to feeling superior and the pirates will go back to spending their cash on other things.

I cannot agree at all - I have a Subnotebook with an external DVD-RW unit. First I do not want to plug it anytime in, just to play a game!
Second I hate it to carry all my CDs with me (I use my Notebook at different places).
Third point: Some games (yes, I have them purchased) donīt like my external unit - they are asking for the "correct CD/DVD".
So I am at the point, that I DO NOT PURCHASE any game before there is a working crack for it!

Greetings, Sascha
