First of all.. Thanks for registering and taking the time to research the forum.

*** TAKE NOTE NEWBIES.. THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE ON HOW A NEWBIE SHOULD ACT ***

That said, let's see what we can do for you. The media you are using shouldn't be a problem. I am using cheap-ass Memorex CDRs and they are fine. Ok. You burned the CDI file with no problems, right? And you are getting a black screen.

Huhm. Good question. I honestly DON'T think it is a software problem at all. I think it has to do with your DC. With the disk in, try to turn it on and off a few times to see if that does anything. I have a friends which does the same thing. Sometimes, it takes him three of four times to get the game ####ted.

About DJ. I thought the same thing about which mode, blah blah... But, the brilliance of a CDI file, is that it tells DJ exactly what to do, and the exact settings.

I haven't burned Outrigger yet (damned cable mode out for a week), and haven't heard of any problems. I would d/l and burn a game that everyone knows works great. I would get THPS2, because it's plastered everywhere, and have heard of no problems as of yet.

Not to sound generic, but if your desperate do some simple things. (I know I repeat myself alot, but...)

> uninstall/reinstall DJ3
> clean out temp dir
> defrag PC
> run regclean (or another registry cleaner; such as Norton System Works)
> close all proggies
> get the latest drivers for your writer
> burn at 4x
> dont move much.. one little tap (sometimes) and it's all over.. lol
> cross yer fingers

I would also somehow try to find someone else who has a DC and try it on theirs.
