Memfis, We would be glad to help you only most of us here dont use the SM disc to play backups. If Jay_83 cant help you maybe you should try to contact who you purchased the kit from, Or you can pay $20 and join PS2ownz . They support SM disc so maybe someone there can help.

Yeah, Jay is a long time member and even though he uses SM he is still respected here (even though his sig says something silly now) so you might pick his brain some.

Hiya,

Not been around recently but cheers for the support Sped

Download this PDF Installation Guide and follow the instructions.

http://www.linker4u.com/success/imag...English-v2.pdf

The two smaller tabs are extremly simple to install, the larger one (Known as the Disc Break) is confusing unless you've done it before.

To cover a few of your questions.......

* Yes the disc is supposed to spin when the tabs are in
* No you can't close the cover when they're in
* Yes you'l get dust inside the unit but easily preventable if you leave a disc in all the time.

The only really advice I can give you other than the guide is that I've found if you're gentle with the disc break and pull it gently towards the front of the console while pushing down it fits easily.

There is a small tab at a right angle on the disc break part, this should sit level with the base of the ps2.
If through messing around you've damaged the larger one let me know cause i've got one spare somewhere.

J

Thanks for the help, i thought the disc break was the thing that pushes to the right, well they sent me two magic switches so i tried the 2nd one bc the first piece fell out or somehting bc i put it in wrong and it doesnt hit the cd. And i put the big one in the hinge with no problem, but the cd will not spin. Im going to try that mod on Jspot.net and if that doesnt work then i dont know. But does anyone know what it could be?

*Edit* Well i cant find a screwdriver small enough and a knife wont cut it when opening the case so i guess ill have to hold up on that mod.
