They're in DC MIDI format. The only way to "rip" them is to record them from the DC.

Talking

The guy sureluy doesn't make a clue about what he's talking about, the don't come in a MIDI format and record them from DC is not the only way to do it.
It uses ADX format you can find a tool on MEGAGAMES.COM they have a DC section then extract them from the game CD, not a GD this one won't be readable by your CD drive, . You must use a pirate version of the game.

I don't have a clue what I'm talking about? I know more about the Dreamcast than probably 99% of owners. And I'm sure a hell of a lot more than you.

They are in a Dreamcast midi format - certainly not .mid you could play on your computer, of course, but a native format with custom sample banks. They're NOT in ADX files. If they were, Shenmue would have come on about 10 discs.

I am in that 1% hehe. Yes the are in unknown for me format - starts with DTPK in ASCII (all ShenMue discs even Whats ShenMue). In SOUND folder is also driver file with AM2/AICAsoundDrv990709/Ver1.70b near start that means it is a AM2 Team format.

AFS files starts with AFS in ASCII, ADX have (c)CRI near start of file.

How to rip? Just load ShenMue on chankast and record tracks and sounds
Thats all !!!
