A few good programs that may help you out are ClonyXXL copy protection detector. And Alcohol 120% Burning software. These are 2 programs that I use to sucessfully back up my games.
ClonyXXL can be found here... http://www.cdmediaworld.com/cgi-bin/...i?ClonyXXL!zip Alcohol 120% can be found at... http://trial.alcohol-soft.com/en/ Sounds to me like you may not be using the proper software for making backups of your games. Plus read the forums. A lot of great info here. SNOWDOG
