Yea this is pretty common.. If you use highly reflective media there's a heck of a better chance your toshiba will be able to read it.. Older players especially have trouble with the silverish write-side dvdrs.
We have an older (really older) player out in the living room. It wouldn't read a single thing we threw at it until I started using riteks. It'll read those no prob. So the older lasers weren't prepared for burnable media. As soon as you run through those cheapies get some good stuff and give it a whirl.. You could even get those single pack dvdrs to test out different brands. They're a little more expensive just because of the packaging.. But once you find one that'll work in all of your players you're set. Shoot for ritek.. Same deal as with Video games.. It's still top quality stuff. |

what make writer have you got had the same thing when i got my first writer (look here http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=63848 ) might not be compatable
