If you go to ####://www.ps2ownz.com there is a database showing what patches are needed for what boot methods. Partches won't be needed for NTSC reasons. If you use CloneCD to do the copy and if your reader/burner is DAO-RAW+96 compatible, current games on the market can be copied 1:1 and no patches are needed at all.
