I used the mini image I sent to GCW.
If you run Scrapland.exe, be aware that it runs another EXE BIN\Scrap.exe, so if you setup a link to run the game and you use Scrapland.exe, it won't work! You have to use BIN\Scrap.exe in the Links Generator screen! As to why it won't work, first try running Starf*ck, click Preferences and set the channel your CD/DVD drives are on and the mode to Aggressive, then save that setting. Run starf*ck again, click on StarForce 3.4.63.002 and click the 'Disable CDROMS' button then check your cdroms are actually disabled in your 'My Computer' screen! If not, try using the 'Super Aggressive' mode and try again, if you still can't get it to disable your drives try 'Normal' mode, but this locked up my PC when I tried it! Also try to put your CD/DVD drives are on the secondary IDE channel if possible. If you still have trouble, use your original disc! |

Hi
I've done everything according to what you have said here, but the game still isn't working. It starts checking the mini image, but I get the following error message at the end of the check: Failed to identify the disc in the drive. Insert a licensed disc. I haven't installed any Scrapland patches. Is is possible, that it's not working because I'm using the Hungarian version of Windows XP Professional?

REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MercurySteam Entertainment\Scrapland] "LANGUAGE"="English" "COUNTRY"="US" Close the file with 2 carriage returns, save it under the name "Scrap.reg". Now double-click on the file, and say yes to regedit, which put it in the registry. Then launch the game and tell us. Bonjour chez vous, Ma Pomme |

I didn't need to edit the registry, because that was the default setting. I found the solution however. I had to use StarForce 3.4.49.xxxx instead. Now it works like a charm. Unfortunatelly the Link Generated doesn't work on every occasion, so I have to press the buttons manually, but I don't mind, since this is a very cool game
BTW, does is work for you in StarForce 3.4.49.xxxx mode?Cheers

I'd also like to add a minor correction. You have to use patch StarForce63 and StarForce49 afterwards as well. So here are the steps I do to run the game (at least what I did, because I already completed the game
) :01/ Launch StarFock 02/ Choose the protection Starforce63 03/ Patch Black List 04/ Choose the protection Starforce49 05/ Patch Black List 06/ Disable your CD Roms 07/ Mount the mini-image with Daemon Tools 08/ Launch the game - Play the game - Quit the game 09/ Choose the protection Starforce49 10/ Enable your CD Roms 11/ UnPatch Black List 12/ Close StarFock So this means, that you should try two methods to run the game in case the first method fails. Have fun. BTW, does the game ever play HumanGD.ogg? That was the soundtrack for the Gambler's Joint in the demo verison. Do you like this soundtrack ?
